A Tradify alternative for trades who would rather not pay per user

Tradify is a well made job management app for UK trades and it beats Youzse on card rates, accounting sync and certificates. Youzse is cheaper on the subscription once you employ anyone, at Tradify's list prices, because it is priced by plan rather than per user.

The short version

  • Choose Tradify if you live in Xero, issue EICRs or gas safety records on site or want the lower card rate of £0.20 plus 1.7%.
  • Choose Youzse if you employ people and want customers booking and paying deposits online, with a subscription that does not rise with each hire.
  • The deciding number is per user pricing: three people on Tradify Pro come to £111 a month, against £59 on Youzse Growth.

The short answer, before the detail

  • Price model. Tradify publishes Lite at £34, Pro at £37 and Plus at £44, each per user per month. Youzse is £19 a month for one user on Essentials, £59 a month for up to 10 users on Growth and £109 a month for unlimited users on Scale.
  • VAT. Tradify's pricing page does not say whether its plan prices include VAT, so ask before you compare totals. The Youzse pricing page states the price you pay and its VAT position.
  • Card payments. Tradify wins. Its standard card rate is £0.20 plus 1.7%, stated as inclusive of VAT. Youzse charges 2.5% plus 35p on standard UK cards, with the platform fee inside that rate. Premium and non UK cards cost more on Youzse.
  • Accounting. Tradify syncs with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks Online on every plan, including Lite. Youzse is not accounting software and has no link to any of them. It raises UK VAT invoices and works out your nine box VAT return figures from them for you or your accountant to file with HMRC. It does not submit returns itself.
  • Certificates. Tradify creates digital electrical and gas certificates such as the EICR and the Landlord/Homeowner Gas Safety Record on Pro and above. Youzse stores your finished certificates against the job and the customer but does not issue them.
  • Trial. Tradify offers 14 days and Youzse offers 30 days. Both say no card is needed to start.
  • New work. Youzse also lists your business on its own marketplace, with 0% commission on new clients who find you through it. It is younger and smaller than the big directories, so treat it as a bonus rather than your pipeline.

Tradify figures taken from tradifyhq.com on 1 October 2026. Their UK pricing page lists Lite at £34, Pro at £37 and Plus at £44 per user per month and Custom as price by request. The team totals are those list rates multiplied out by us. Tradify also says it offers team pricing options that are better value per user, so ask for a quote for your team size. The page does not state whether the prices include VAT, so confirm that with Tradify before comparing. Youzse plan prices are taken from the Youzse pricing page, which states its VAT position.

Where Tradify is genuinely the stronger choice

  • Two way sync with Xero and Sage and an integration with QuickBooks Online, included from Lite upward. If your bookkeeping lives in one of those, this alone may decide it.
  • A lower card rate of £0.20 plus 1.7% on standard cards, stated as inclusive of VAT, with the choice to absorb the fee or pass it on to your customer.
  • Digital certificates built in from Pro upward, including the EICR, EIC, Minor Works and PAT reports for electricians and the Landlord/Homeowner Gas Safety Record and CD/10, CD/11 and CD/12 oil forms for heating engineers.
  • Timesheets your team fills in on the mobile app, feeding job costs, from Pro upward.
  • Your own price list plus supplier price lists imported from a CSV file. Kit bundles of parts and labour come with Plus.
  • Progress invoicing for deposits, progress payments and retentions, from Pro upward.
  • Subcontractor scheduling, with their Connections feature included in the subscription at no extra cost.
  • Purchase orders, boiler service reminders and AI tools that read bills and help write descriptions, all on Plus.
  • Google Calendar sync, free one to one training and phone support.

Where Youzse is the better fit

The first difference is how the bill is worked out. Per user pricing is fair for a sole trader and climbs every time you hire. On Tradify's published rates, three people on Pro come to £111 a month before the VAT question is settled. Youzse Growth is £59 a month for up to 10 users. For a sole trader the gap is smaller, £34 on Tradify Lite against £19 on Youzse Essentials for one user, and Lite includes the accounting sync that Youzse does not offer.

The second is that customers can book themselves. Youzse started as booking software, so a customer can pick a slot, pay a deposit to hold it and get reminders without ringing you. That suits fixed price work such as boiler services, landlord EICRs or appliance repairs. Quoted work runs the way a trade expects: an itemised quote from saved prices, accepted online with a timestamp, then converted to an invoice with the same lines, or to a booked job.

The third is what sits around the job. Youzse covers enquiries, quotes, deposits and part payments, invoices with payment links, automatic chasing of overdue invoices, CRM, marketing campaigns and forms. It raises UK VAT invoices and works out your nine box VAT return figures as you go, ready for you or your accountant to file, and it runs across around 60 business types rather than the building trades alone.

The fourth is new work. Youzse lists your business where local customers search, and there is 0% commission on new clients who find you through Youzse and book. The marketplace is still growing, so it will not replace your word of mouth, but it costs nothing extra to be on it.

Tradify rates taken from tradifyhq.com on 1 October 2026, on their UK card payments page, which states that fees are inclusive of VAT and that first payouts arrive 7 days after payment and later ones 3 days after. Tradify is cheaper than Youzse on standard cards at every payment size, and on premium cards and American Express the Youzse rate is higher than its standard UK card rate, so compare your own mix of cards.

How to decide in an afternoon

If you live in Xero, issue your own EICRs or gas safety records on site on Pro or Plus or run timesheets for a crew and subcontractors, Tradify does more of that work than Youzse does. We would rather you chose it now than found the gap in month two.

If you are a sole trader or a small firm that wants customers booking and paying deposits online, quotes and invoices in one place and a subscription that does not rise each time you take someone on, Youzse is the cheaper and broader option on the subscription. Then do the card maths honestly. Take a typical month of card takings, price it at £0.20 plus 1.7% and at 2.5% plus 35p on standard UK cards, and set the difference against the subscription saving.

Run the two trials side by side on real jobs. Tradify gives you 14 days and Youzse gives you 30, and neither asks for a card to start.

Clear answers before you switch

The details that usually slow down a move: setup, pricing, bookings, records and how Youzse fits into your day.

On the subscription, yes, at Tradify's published list prices and at every team size it publishes. One user is £34 on Tradify Lite against £19 on Youzse Essentials, and three users on Tradify Pro come to £111 a month against £59 on Youzse Growth. On card payments Tradify is cheaper, at £0.20 plus 1.7% on standard cards against 2.5% plus 35p on standard UK cards on Youzse. Tradify also says it offers team pricing options that are better value per user, so ask for a quote for your team size. Add the two together for your own numbers before deciding.
