Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how the Youzse mobile application (the App), operated by Youzse Ltd, uses cookies and similar technologies.

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We use these technologies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. In a mobile app we and our partners also use similar technologies, such as software development kits (SDKs), pixels, local storage and device or advertising identifiers, that work in much the same way. In this Policy we refer to all of these as cookies for simplicity.

They help the App function, remember your preferences, keep you secure and, where you allow it, help us understand usage and measure marketing. In keeping with our wider philosophy, we use them only to secure the App and to make your experience smoother, never to exploit your information.

Strictly necessary (always on). These are essential for the App to work and cannot be switched off. They do not require your consent. They include technologies that:

• keep you signed in and secure your session
• support our Cloudflare security and content delivery layer, for example to route traffic and protect against malicious activity
• remember essential settings
• on the website, remember that you closed the launch waitlist invitation, and for the rest of your visit which country the waitlist check found, so the check is not repeated on every page. These are kept in your browser's own storage and are not sent to anyone

Analytics (consent required). These help us understand how the App is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which measures how features are used, screen views and general performance. The data is aggregated and used to improve the App, not to exploit your information.

Marketing (consent required). Website only. We use the Meta Pixel on youzse.app to understand the effectiveness of our own advertising and measure actions taken after seeing or interacting with our adverts.

The mobile app has no marketing category at all. It contains no advertising or attribution software, sets no cookies, does not use the device advertising identifier and sends nothing to any advertising network. The only choice it offers is the analytics one above.

We only use analytics and marketing technologies after you give your consent.

• Strictly necessary (session, security, Cloudflare): make the App work and keep it secure. Consent needed: no.
• Analytics (Google Analytics 4): understand and improve usage. Consent needed: yes.
• Marketing (Meta Pixel), website only: measure advertising performance. Consent needed: yes. Not present in the mobile app.

When you first use the App, and whenever required after that, we will ask you to choose your preferences for analytics and marketing technologies.

Strictly necessary technologies run automatically because the Service cannot work without them. We will not load Google Analytics 4 until you have given consent, and we will not load the Meta Pixel, which is on the website only, until you have given consent there.

You are always in control and you can change your mind at any time.

• In the App: open Settings, then Privacy or Cookie preferences, to update your analytics and marketing choices.
• iOS: settings let you limit ad tracking and reset your advertising identifier, and the App must ask permission before tracking you across other apps and websites.
• Android: settings let you reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalised adverts.
• Google Analytics: you can learn more and control Google's use of data through Google's own privacy tools.
• Meta: you can manage advert preferences within your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

Withdrawing consent will stop the relevant technologies from being used going forward. It will not affect data already collected while your consent was active.

Some cookies are set on the website by the third parties listed above, namely Google and Meta, rather than directly by us. The mobile app sets no cookies. We do not control how those third parties use the data they collect through their own technologies. Please review their privacy and cookie policies for Google Analytics 4, the Meta Pixel and Cloudflare.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date and, where changes are significant, we will let you know in the App.
