Every booking platform is paid by somebody. The only real question is who. Book in Beautiful answers it by putting a booking charge on your client at checkout, which is how one of its plans can carry no monthly bill at all. Youzse answers it by charging you a subscription and charging 0% commission on new clients. Neither answer is wrong, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling. What follows lays both models out with the published facts, including the ones that do not flatter us, and flags clearly where a number is not published at all.
Who pays what
- Monthly bill to you. Book in Beautiful Plan 1, Free for You, is £0.00 per month, and Plan 2, Subscription, is quote based, with prices stated to exclude VAT. Youzse is from £19 per month in GBP.
- Who pays per booking. On Book in Beautiful it is your client, in their words your clients pay a small booking charge at checkout. On Youzse it is you, through the subscription and the card rate, and Youzse does not add a booking charge to your client.
- How much the client is charged. Book in Beautiful does not publish the amount. A figure appears only inside an illustrative graphic, so we will not quote one. Ask them for the current amount in writing.
- What the charge is said to cover. Their FAQ says it covers SMS reminders, Google review invites, feedback requests, secure payments and more, and that it is refunded if the client cancels. On Youzse those sit inside the plan you already pay for.
- Card rate. Book in Beautiful does not publish one. The only related claim is online payments and deposits with zero transaction fees, optional, on the free plan. Youzse publishes 2.5% plus 35p per transaction in GBP with the platform fee inside that rate.
- VAT. Book in Beautiful states all prices exclude VAT, verbatim on their pricing page. Youzse VAT treatment is set out on the Youzse pricing page.
Published costs, in each publisher's own terms
| Book in Beautiful | Youzse | |
|---|---|---|
| Plan 1 | £0.00 per month per business, prices exclude VAT, funded by a booking charge paid by your client at checkout | No £0.00 plan. Youzse starts at £19 per month in GBP |
| Plan 2 | Quote based. Their on page calculator renders £35.00 per month at its default of one location and one therapist, prices exclude VAT. That is calculator output, not an advertised price | £19 per month in GBP for the entry plan and up, published rather than quoted |
| Add ons | Autofill cancellations £4.40, Google review optimisation £7.50, email and SMS marketing £5.17, digital loyalty cards £10.00, product sales and stock £7.50, custom app £20.00, each per month in GBP and each excluding VAT | Published in GBP on the Youzse pricing page |

Taken from bookinbeautiful.com/en-GB on 7 August 2026. The company is Book in Beautiful Ltd. Their pricing page states that all prices exclude VAT. The amount of the client booking charge is not published anywhere in their pricing copy, so no figure for it appears on this page.
Where Book in Beautiful is genuinely strong
- Beauty specific compliance, including consultation forms and patch test management, which general purpose booking software usually leaves you to improvise.
- Waitlist autofill, so a cancelled slot goes back in front of somebody quickly.
- Unlimited SMS reminders for online bookings on the free plan.
- Hands off migration. They say they can get your data from any booking provider you were with previously, and that most switches are completed within a few days.
- A UK based support team.
- A free custom booking website on both plans.
- Anti marketplace positioning stated plainly, in their words they are not middlemen and marketplace booking systems are.
The honest verdict
Start with the part that does not flatter us. Book in Beautiful publishes a plan with a £0.00 monthly bill. Youzse starts at £19 a month. On the monthly line Youzse costs more, every single month, and no amount of framing changes that. If a business with no fixed software cost is what you want, their free plan does something Youzse does not offer.
Their FAQ pre empts the obvious objection, and the answer is a fair one. The client booking charge, they say, covers SMS reminders, Google review invites, feedback requests, secure payments and more, and it is refunded if the client cancels. Clients pay booking charges on all sorts of things without blinking, and a charge that funds the reminder stopping them from missing the appointment is not unreasonable.
The caveat is that the amount is not published. A figure appears only inside an illustrative graphic, which is not the same thing as a published price, so we will not repeat it. Before you choose the free plan, ask Book in Beautiful for the current charge in writing and ask whether it can change. Then do the arithmetic against your own volume, because a charge per booking scales with how busy you get while a subscription does not.
The other thing to weigh is whose charge it looks like at the till. Your client sees the extra line at checkout, and if your clients are price sensitive, or the salon down the road quotes a round number, that line becomes yours to explain. If your clients book online without a second thought, it will never once come up. That is a judgement about your client base rather than about the software.
Youzse takes the other route. You pay from £19 a month, your client pays the price of the service plus any deposit you set, and Youzse charges 0% commission on new clients who find you through it. Card payments run at 2.5% plus 35p with the platform fee inside that rate, and the trial runs 30 days with no card required. The scope is wider than beauty: booking, deposits, quotes, invoices, CRM, marketing, loyalty, gift cards, memberships, forms and VAT returns across more than 60 trades. If you want beauty specific depth such as patch test management, they have built more of it than we have. If you want one system running the money as well as the diary, that is the case for Youzse.
