Set up in 2 minutes. No credit card required.

Priced by the room, paid on the day
Carpet cleaning is quoted by room count and condition, and the awkward part is the sofa they mention when you arrive. Quote in writing, add extras at checkout and take the card before the machine is back in the van.
No commission on new customers.
One card rate of 2.5% plus 35p, with the platform fee inside it.
Set up in 2 minutes. No credit card required.

Annually, and at every tenancy
Domestic carpets get done about once a year, and rented ones every time a tenant moves. Both are predictable if you keep the record and prompt at the right moment rather than waiting to be found again.
Unlimited customers and properties.
Unlimited customer records on every plan, yours to export at any time.
Set up in 2 minutes. No credit card required.

Running a carpet cleaners business
Carpet cleaning is a call-out with a machine in the back of a van, and the whole job turns on two things the customer never asks about on the phone. How wet it will be, and how long before the room can be walked on again.
Drying time is the promise you are really making
A customer padding across a damp carpet in socks that evening remembers that far longer than she remembers the stain. Give a drying time, be conservative about it and say what affects it, because a cold house in February dries nothing at all.
That one number decides the method as much as the price. A flat being handed back at nine the next morning does not want a saturated extraction clean, whatever that would have done for the traffic lanes.
It also decides how many jobs fit into a day. Furniture cannot go back until the floor is dry, so somebody has to be told, before you arrive, whose job that is.
What was said on the phone against what is on the floor
| What was booked | What is usually there | What it does to the visit |
|---|---|---|
| Three bedrooms | Three bedrooms, a landing and the stairs | Stairs take as long as a room and were never in the price |
| A light freshen up | Ten years of traffic lane down the hallway | A pre-spray and two passes, or a result nobody is pleased with |
| One small stain | Something already attacked with a supermarket bottle | The residue has to come out before anything else will |
| Just the carpets | A three seater mentioned casually at the front door | Upholstery work priced standing up in a hallway |
None of those are unreasonable customers. Quoting from a room count and a photograph rather than a phone conversation is what stops all four being a surprise.
Price the extras before you are standing in the hallway
Stairs, upholstery, rugs, protector and specialist stain treatment are the highest margin things you sell, and they are almost always agreed on the doorstep, which is the worst possible moment to name a price.
Put them on the booking as priced options and let the customer add them in advance. The same sofa is an easy yes the week before and an awkward negotiation with your machine already running.
Two separate calendars sit inside your job history
Domestic carpets come round roughly once a year and no household on earth has that in a diary. Rented property comes round at every tenancy change, which is a date somebody else is already tracking.
Agents and landlords are the steadier half of the business. They do not need persuading about the value of clean carpets, they need somebody who answers on the Thursday a tenant moved out when the new one arrives on Monday.
Record what was on the floor, what you used on it and how it came out. When the same landlord rings about the same flat eighteen months later, you can price it without driving there.
What quietly costs a carpet cleaning business a job
- Parking, because a machine on a van needs a hose run and a third floor flat with no bay is an hour gone before you start
- A water supply that turns out to be a kitchen mixer tap with nothing to connect to
- Promising a stain will come out before anybody has seen what made it
- Heavy furniture put straight back onto a damp carpet, which marks it
- A quote given by room count when two of the rooms are one through lounge
- Being paid after the visit rather than before the machine goes back in the van
