Quote on site, book it in
Enquiries land in one pipeline, you quote after a site visit and confirm the job with a deposit. Schedule the work around access and weather and invoice the balance when the site is clear.
No commission on new customers. No per job charges.
One monthly subscription. 2.5% + 35p only when you take a card payment.
Set up in 2 minutes. No credit card required.

Quoted from the ground, paid on the day
Tree work is quoted on a site visit, needs insurance and often permissions and produces a lorry of arisings to dispose of. Quote it with photos, take a deposit against the disposal and traffic management and settle on completion.
Overdue invoices chase themselves.
One card rate of 2.5% plus 35p, with the platform fee inside it.
Set up in 2 minutes. No credit card required.

Trees grow back
A crown reduction is due again in three to five years, and a hedge every season. That is a diary of predictable work if you record what you did to which tree and prompt at the right interval.
Unlimited customers and sites.
Unlimited customer records on every plan, yours to export at any time.

Running a tree surgeons business
Arboriculture is the one trade here where a poor decision drops several tonnes of timber onto a conservatory. The price reflects the crew, the kit and the risk, and almost every difficult conversation in this business starts with a customer who was comparing it to a gardener's day rate.
You are selling a crew, a chipper and a judgement
A reduction on a mature lime is three people, a chipper, a tipper and often a lorry for the timber. The climber is the visible part of that and easily the smallest part of the cost.
Which is why quoting down the phone does not work in this trade. You cannot see the access, what sits underneath, whether the crown overhangs a road or where two tonnes of arisings are going until you are standing in the garden.
Build the survey visit into how you price rather than treating it as free. Quoting everything on site and converting one in four means a full day a week spent driving for nothing at all.
What has to be established before a quote means anything
- What the tree actually is, because the species decides the work and the regrowth cycle
- What sits underneath it, and what putting that back would cost
- Whether the tree or the site carries any protection, which is a question asked before the saw comes out rather than after
- Access for a chipper, and where the timber and the chip are going afterwards
- The time of year, because there is a stretch of it when nesting has to be checked before anybody climbs
The customer is buying a result and comparing a number
Two quotes for the same oak can differ by a factor of three, and the customer has no way of telling which one included taking the timber away, which one carries cover to work above a garage and which one is a man with a ladder and an ambition.
Photographs settle it. A marked up picture of that actual tree showing where the cuts go turns a price into a specification, and it is the single most effective thing this trade can do to stop being judged on the number alone.
What comes back, and when
| The work | Before it is due again | What that means for the diary |
|---|---|---|
| A hedge cut | Once or twice every year, indefinitely | The most reliable recurring work in the trade |
| A crown lift or a thin | Three to five years, depending on species | A prompt that has to know what the tree was |
| A felling and stump grind | Never again on that tree | Worth asking what else is on the property while you are there |
Regrowth is a diary of jobs already won. It only works if the species, the work and the access are on a record rather than in somebody's memory of a Tuesday two summers ago.
What goes wrong on a tree job
- A drive that will not take a tipper, discovered with the chipper already unhitched
- A buried cable, a pond or a fence run sitting directly under the drop zone
- Wind that makes the day unsafe on the one morning the whole crew was booked
- A stump the price never covered, because grinding was never mentioned by either side
Storms are a year of demand inside a fortnight
Work in this trade does not arrive evenly. It arrives when a named storm goes through, and for ten days afterwards every phone in the county rings at once with jobs that genuinely cannot wait.
The businesses that do well out of that fortnight are the ones who can see the diary, price from a photograph and say yes or no quickly. The ones that do badly say yes to everybody, promise Thursday to nine people and lose the customers they already had.
