A new client fee is easy to read as "they booked on Fresha, so Fresha takes a cut". Fresha's own help centre describes a wider rule. This page is about when that fee can still apply. The current percentage lives on the Fresha fees guide, which is filled from the checked pricing catalogue, so it is not typed in here.
Who counts as a new marketplace client
Fresha describes the fee as a charge for a new client who finds you through the marketplace. A client you already had, who comes back, is not what that page is charging for.
The wider case is the one that surprises people. Fresha's help says the fee also covers someone who views your marketplace profile and then books through your website or your social pages. The booking did not have to happen on Fresha.
That is Fresha's rule, published in their help centre and read on 11 October 2026. If a particular client is in dispute, that is between you and Fresha. This page is describing the published rule, not deciding a bill.
Cancelling the visit does not always cancel the fee
Fresha's help says the fee can still apply when you or your team cancel on the client's behalf, when the appointment is left unmanaged, or when it is rescheduled. The visit not happening is not, on that page, the same thing as the fee being reversed.
The help article is Marketplace new client fees, at fresha.com/help-center/knowledge-base/billing-and-fees/101357-marketplace-new-client-fees. Read it yourself before you argue a charge. Help articles move.
The percentage and the minimum are a separate question, and they change. A number remembered from a forum is not a current price. The Fresha fees guide on this site shows the figure the catalogue currently holds, and the date that row was checked.
What to weigh if you are deciding
If new clients find you on Fresha and then book from your own link, you can still be paying the marketplace fee for a booking that never happened on Fresha. Add that to the subscription and the card charge before you call the platform free.
Youzse charges 0% commission on new clients, including on its own marketplace. Card payments are 2.5% plus 35p. A subscription starts at £19 a month for one person. That card rate is higher than some others. The point of this page is the fee rule, not a claim that every pound is cheaper.
Leaving is a separate job. Saved cards and the Fresha listing do not come with you. The switch page is the running order for what the export can and cannot bring across.
Before you assume a booking was free of the fee
- Did they view your Fresha profile first?
- Did they then book on your website or a social link?
- Are they a returning client, or a new one?
- Did you cancel, leave it unmanaged, or reschedule?
- Have you checked the current rate on the Fresha fees guide?
