Fresha or Treatwell Connect: 20% against 35%

Fresha and Treatwell Connect are both consumer marketplaces first and software second. The number that separates them most is the one on the first booking a stranger makes with you.

Written by Youzse, so read it as one contender's view rather than a neutral one. Every figure below is read from Fresha's and Treatwell's own UK pricing pages on the dates shown in the footnote, and where either does not publish a number we say so rather than estimating.

Two marketplaces, two very different fees

Treatwell's 35% on a new client's first booking is the largest fee compared on any Youzse comparison page, nearly double Fresha's 20%. Treatwell also does not publish what its software costs each month for either the Freelancer or Advanced plan, so the commission is the only number you can actually budget from before speaking to sales.

Fresha states its subscription plainly, £14.95 a month for an independent or £9.95 per bookable team member, and takes a smaller one time cut on new clients. If marketplace demand is genuinely why you want either platform, Fresha is the cheaper of the two on the fee that matters most.

Why anyone still picks Treatwell

Reach. Treatwell has real consumer demand across the UK and Europe, 0% commission on repeat visits, and nothing charged on bookings a salon wins directly through calls, texts or its own website. A salon with capacity to fill and no reputation yet is exactly who a 35% introduction fee is built for.

Where Youzse fits

Youzse removes both marketplace fees entirely, charging 0% commission on new clients in exchange for a card rate of 2.5% plus 35p and a published £19 a month subscription rather than a quoted one. It does not bring you the consumer demand either marketplace can, so if an empty diary is the actual problem, neither Youzse nor swapping marketplaces solves it on its own.

Where Youzse costs more

Card processing, on the transactions you would have taken directly anyway. Fresha's rates are lower than Youzse's, and Treatwell's 2.5% plus VAT online prepayment rate undercuts Youzse too on that narrow line. If most of your money is taken in the chair rather than through either marketplace, that is worth pricing before you switch.

How we worked this out

Every figure quoted for another platform was taken from that company's own UK pricing page on the date shown at the bottom of this page. Where a platform does not publish a number, we have left it out rather than estimating it.

Watch the VAT treatment when you compare. Booksy publishes its subscription and card fees plus VAT. Fresha and Vagaro publish theirs without that note. Check what each provider will actually invoice you before you decide.

These platforms change their plans. If you spot something out of date here, tell us and we will correct it.

Third-party pricing and features on this page were last checked on 10 August 2026. Rival platforms change their plans, so check their own site before you decide.

Fresha, on the published numbers. Fresha charges 20% once on a new client's first booking with a £4 minimum. Treatwell charges 35% of the first booking plus VAT, the largest new client fee of any platform Youzse has compared.
