Staying in touch keeps customers coming back, but it has to be done properly. Youzse keeps a clear line between messages a customer needs and marketing they have agreed to receive.
Service messages versus marketing
Booking confirmations, reminders and similar messages are part of the service someone has asked for, so you can always send them. Marketing, like offers and newsletters, is different and needs consent.
How consent is recorded
Each customer record has a marketing opt-in setting. When someone opts in, Youzse records the exact time their consent was given, so you have a clear record. Consent is never assumed. If you have not been told yes, treat the answer as no. Customers can also opt out at any time, and every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link that updates their record automatically.
Sending a one-off message
From a customer record you can send a direct email or notification, for example to follow up after a visit. If a customer has asked you to restrict processing of their data, sending is blocked until that is lifted. Every message you send is logged against the record.
Channels and defaults
Email and push notifications are switched on by default. SMS and WhatsApp are switched off until you choose to enable them for your business, because text channels carry a per-message cost and stricter rules. You stay in control of which channels you use.
Good practice
- Only market to people who have opted in
- Keep messages relevant and not too frequent
- Honour opt-outs straight away, which Youzse does for you
- Keep your customer details accurate so messages reach the right person
Common questions
Can I market to customers who booked but never opted in?
No. Holding a record because somebody booked is not consent to market to them.
Are reminders affected by marketing consent?
No. Confirmations and reminders are service messages about work the customer asked for.
What happens to consent when I import customers?
It comes across where your export includes it. Where it does not, imported customers arrive without consent.
