Selling blocks of classes

Class packages sell several sessions as one purchase, so customers pay up front and get a better rate per session.

A class package is a block of sessions sold as one purchase. Set them up under Settings, then Class Packages. The customer pays once for ten sessions rather than paying each week.

Why they work for both sides

You get the money up front and a customer who has committed. They get a better rate and stop making the decision every week, which is the real reason people stop coming to things.

Sizing a block

Five and ten are the usual choices. A block big enough to feel like a commitment and small enough not to feel like a gamble.

Pricing the discount

Ten to twenty per cent off the single-session price is enough to be worth having. Much more and you are discounting people who would have come anyway.

Expiry

Give a block a sensible life. An open-ended block of ten sits on your books for years and turns up unexpectedly. Three or six months is reasonable, and be clear about it when you sell it.

Common questions

Where do I set packages up?

Settings, then Class Packages. They need the group bookings feature.

Can somebody use a package on any class?

That depends how you set it up. Be clear with customers about which sessions their block covers.

Are package balances imported from another platform?

No. Balances do not transfer between platforms, so credit existing customers by hand when you switch.
