Rewards are what a customer swaps their balance for. Create them under Loyalty, each with a name and a cost in points, and order them so the most reachable one is first.
What makes a good reward
- Something you can give without resenting it
- Something the customer actually wants
- Priced so a regular reaches the first one in a few visits
A free add-on service usually beats money off, because it costs you time you were going to spend anyway rather than cash out of the till.
Turning rewards on and off
Only active rewards can be redeemed, so you can build a seasonal reward in advance and switch it on when you are ready. Retiring a reward is a switch rather than a deletion, which keeps the history of what people redeemed.
Ordering them
The display order is yours. Put the cheapest first so a customer with a small balance sees something within reach rather than a list of things they cannot afford.
Common questions
Can I have a reward nobody can afford yet?
Yes, and an aspirational reward at the top is fine as long as there is a reachable one below it.
What happens to a reward I deactivate?
It stops being redeemable. Rewards already redeemed keep their history.
Do rewards work in stamps mode?
Stamps reward at a threshold you set. The reward menu is what points mode redeems against.
