Customising your menu

Reorder the sidebar, hide what you never use, choose what the badges count, and pick the three items in your app tab bar.

Nobody uses every page in Youzse. The menu can be cut down to the ones you do use, put in the order you use them, and it stays that way for everyone in the business.

On the web

  1. 1Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and click Customise menu.
  2. 2On the Visibility tab, drag an item by its handle to move it within its group.
  3. 3Drag a group heading to move the whole group.
  4. 4Switch an item off to hide it from the menu.
  5. 5Changes save as you make them. There is no separate save button.

Dashboard and Settings can never be hidden, so there is no way to lock your business out of its own navigation.

Hiding is tidying, not locking

This is worth being clear about. A hidden page is still there. It keeps every permission check and every plan check it had, and anyone who knows the address can still open it. Hiding shortens the menu, it does not restrict anyone.

If you need to stop somebody reaching a part of the product, that is a role. Set it under Settings, then Roles.

Menu changes apply for everyone in the business, so agree them before you start switching things off. You need the Edit settings permission, which owners and managers have by default.

Search follows your menu

The quick search and the command palette read the same list, so a page you have hidden stops cluttering your search results too.

Badges

The Badges tab controls the little number that sits beside a menu item. For most items you can choose what it counts or turn it off entirely. Bookings can show today or the week's total, classes can show today's sessions or the ones with spaces left, the inbox can show unread or active, and so on. Pick the one that matches how you work rather than leaving them all on.

On the app

Go to More, then App Customisation, then Tab Bar. You get three slots between Dashboard and More. Add or remove items, reorder them with the arrows, then tap Apply. Everything you leave out is still reachable from the More menu.

Your tab bar is saved on your own device for your own login, so your phone and a colleague's phone can be set up completely differently.

Common questions

I hid a page by mistake. How do I get it back?

Open Customise menu at the bottom of the sidebar and switch it back on. Nothing was deleted.

Does hiding a page stop my staff opening it?

No. It only removes it from the menu. Use roles and permissions if you need to actually restrict access.

Why can I not drag anything?

Reordering needs the Edit settings permission. Without it you can still see the menu list but not change it.

Does my sidebar order carry over to the app?

No. The web sidebar and the app tab bar are separate. The sidebar applies to everyone in the business, the tab bar is per person and per device.

Can I hide Settings?

No. Dashboard and Settings always stay, so there is always a route back.
