Push notifications on the app

Push notifications reach customers who have the app installed, arrive immediately and cost nothing to send.

Push notifications go to a customer's phone through the app. They arrive immediately, they cost nothing and they are on by default.

Who receives them

Only customers who have the app installed and have allowed notifications on their device. Everyone else gets email instead, so nobody misses out.

What they are good for

Reminders and anything time-sensitive. A push notification lands on a lock screen the way a text does, without the per-message cost.

What they are not

A replacement for email. People delete apps, change phones and turn notifications off. Email remains the channel you can rely on for anything that matters.

Encouraging the app

Customers with the app rebook more often, because booking again is two taps rather than finding your page. Mentioning it when somebody pays is usually enough.

Common questions

Why did a customer not get a push notification?

They either do not have the app, have not allowed notifications on their device or are signed out.

Do push notifications cost anything?

No. They are free, which is why they are on by default.

Can I send a marketing message by push?

Marketing goes through Campaigns and follows marketing consent. Push notifications here are for service messages about bookings.
