Collecting customer reviews

Open Reviews to collect new reviews from customers or to bring across reviews you already earned on another platform.

Open the Reviews page at /app/reviews, or reach it from the review requests widget on your dashboard. From there you can collect new reviews from customers and bring across reviews you already earned somewhere else.

Why reviews matter more than anything else you do

Somebody choosing between two local businesses reads reviews and looks at little else. Volume and recency both count. Forty reviews from three years ago look worse than fifteen from this year.

Asking well

  • Ask soon after the visit, while it is fresh
  • Ask everyone rather than only the people you think will say something nice
  • Make it one tap, because anything longer loses most people

Your Google link

Put your Google review link in your business profile so happy customers can leave one in a single tap. Google reviews do work your own reviews cannot, because they show up in search and on maps.

Reviews you already have

Moving platforms does not have to mean starting from zero. Reviews you earned elsewhere can be brought across, and there is a separate guide for that.

Common questions

Can I ask only the customers who were happy?

You can, and you should not. Filtering out unhappy customers is against most review platform rules and produces a rating nobody believes.

How many reviews do I need?

Enough to look established and recent enough to look alive. A steady trickle beats a burst followed by silence.

Can I offer something in exchange for a review?

Paying for reviews breaches the rules of every major platform and is treated as a consumer protection matter. Ask properly instead.
