Requiring a photo with the booking

A service can require a photo before the appointment. It can require at least one reference photo before the customer confirms.

Open the service under Services & Booking, then Services. Two cards ask for photos. They do different jobs.

Pre-appointment image is for a photo you need before you see them, such as their current colour. Turn on Require photo before appointment. Instructions tell them what to send, in plain words, such as a clear photo in daylight. The booking page then marks that service as photo required.

Services & Booking, then Services, on the service. Require photo before appointment and Require at least one photo are separate switches.

Customer photos are reference images on the booking itself, such as a cut they want. Turn on Allow customers to upload photos. Then turn on Require at least one photo if they must add one before confirming. Maximum photos caps how many, up to twenty. Instructions sit under that, for what the picture should show.

Leave both off for a service where a photo would only slow the booking down. A beard trim rarely needs one. A colour correction often does.

Save the service. The requirement applies to bookings made after you save.

Common questions

What is the difference between the two photo settings?

Require photo before appointment is a photo you need in advance of the visit. Require at least one photo is a picture they must attach before the booking confirms.

Can a photo be optional?

Yes. Allow customers to upload photos and leave Require at least one photo off. They can add one and they can book without one.

Will an old booking be chased for a photo?

The requirement is on the service for bookings made once it is on. Ask in person for a booking that is already in the diary.
