Go to Team, then Chair Rentals. This is who rents a chair or booth from you and on what terms. It is there for salons and studios, not for every kind of business.

Choose New agreement. Pick the staff member, then the money. Fixed rent is optional and is weekly or monthly. Commission is an optional percentage. You can charge rent, commission, both or neither. A chair that is only a desk with no fee is still worth recording so you know who is in it.

Team, then Chair Rentals. New agreement sets the person, a fixed rent, a commission percentage or both.

Set a start date. End date can stay empty when the agreement runs on. Notice period is in days. Auto-renew keeps it going. Notes are for anything the numbers do not say, such as which chair.

An agreement can be activated, paused, resumed or ended. Pause is for a month they are away. End it when they leave and give a reason. Ending the agreement does not delete the person.

The person should also be set to Chair rental under their employment type, so their takings stay theirs and the rent is what you collect.

Common questions

I cannot see Chair Rentals. Why?

It shows for beauty and body-art businesses. You need permission to manage rentals. Another kind of business uses employment type instead.

Can one person have two agreements?

One running agreement at a time. End or pause the old one before you start another.

Does the rent come out of their card payments?

The agreement records what they owe you. Their card payments still settle to them when they are a chair renter. Collect the rent as you have agreed.
